Congressman Andy Biggs announced in a press release that his Deputy Chief of Staff Greg Safsten will be resigning his position as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Biggs announced the hire of Safsten as District Director on Nov. 30, 2016 along with Chief of Staff, Deborah Weigel; Communications Director, Daniel Stefanski. In that release Biggs said, “I am thrilled with my first three hires for the incoming office. Deborah, Daniel and Greg are uniquely qualified for their respective roles, and their talents and body of work will be well-received in Arizona’s Fifth Congressional District. My staff and I are excited and ready to hit the ground running in January to serve our constituents and to work to advance the conservative principles that we campaigned on throughout this year.”

According to Greg Safsten’s LinkedIn, he has worked with Congressman Biggs since 2016. Prior to that, he worked for Matt Salmon‘s campaign and spent one year as a field representative for Jon Kyl‘s US Senate campaign.

“Greg served our constituents admirably for years, starting out on Senator Jon Kyl’s political team and then with my predecessor, Representative Matt Salmon. After my election in 2016, Greg was integral to opening my district office and has compiled one of the best teams around over his three-year tenure. Chances are you have run into him at one of our many community events, including Drop Zone and Salute to Veterans, a Seniors Resource Fair, our mobile office hours, or a Chamber of Commerce meeting. His hard work and dedication to the people of the fighting fifth will not be forgotten and his contributions will be missed immensely.

“Greg leaves the office in the hands of a highly qualified staff and we sincerely thank him for his leadership during his tenure. Our office wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors.

“Greg’s last day will be Tuesday, December 31ST. We are confident that Greg and our staff will make this a smooth transition for our constituents, community leaders, and industry stakeholders.”
