As of Friday morning, Joe Biden is still holding a narrow lead against President Donald Trump, with Maricopa county posting new ballot results at 9am. According to AZcentral, there are approximately 300,000 votes left to count. The latest update narrowed Biden’s lead by about 3,500 votes, with about 51% of the morning’s votes going to Trump. Trump needed 59% of the votes to take the lead.

Biden has also taken small leads in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger told reporters on Friday that the state will likely head to a recount.

“This process is and will remain open and transparent to monitors,” Raffensberger said. Georgia law states candidates must be within half a percentage point of each other to trigger a recount.

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey called on Americans to “be patient” as the count continues. “Arizonans turned out in historic numbers for this election, and we owe it to them to count their votes. The results have shifted greatly hour by hour, and from last night until today,” he said in a statement on Wednesday. “With hundreds of thousands of votes still outstanding, it’s important that we be patient before declaring any races up or down the ballot. Arizonans have cast their votes, and we need to make sure all their voices are heard fairly and accurately.”

Historically Arizona has leaned Republican, but that trend has seemed to shift, including in 2016 when Trump narrowly won Arizona against Hillary Clinton by a three-point margin.

More election results are expected at 7pm Friday, according to Maricopa County officials.
